My first digital doodle is an onion, because onions have layers.
I hope all of you are inspired to own your art! Do it and share it! I loved to draw as a kid, like most kids do, and I was pretty good if I do say so myself. I stopped drawing for a long time and I’m glad to be getting back to it.
Digital is so different from pencil and paper. I really love that I don’t need any other tool besides a tablet and a stylus. I can paint and water color and trace without ever running out of supplies or making a mess. And it’s so much easier! The apps all have copy/ paste, shape tools, undo; A miracle of technology.
I was uncertain about using my first design as my website logo. Does it go with my theme? Is the design good enough?
Everything you do is “good enough” and the first is always terrible. You do not have to wait until something is “good” to share it. Thinking like that will never let you get started. I am super stoked to have finished my first logo design.
The data may show that other colors would have been more catchy or a more simple design is cheaper to put on merchandise. None of that is the point! It’s mine! I love technology but I wish this world were made more people again. Not data. Discovering some things for yourself is going to take longer and may cost more money but asking Google for the answer or paying a stranger for a generic logo design just doesn’t feel like living.
I want to encourage you to find an art style, try it, and share it. Don’t wait until you are “good” at it. Do it now. Write a poem, paint a picture, film a short video. Then post it! You can always re-brand. Redesign. Start again. Doing is good enough.
